At last, a high-quality saw set is back on the market! For years, these tools had vanished from our range, and even the older versions we once carried had their drawbacks. True to form, Veritas has completely re-engineered the design, creating a tool that’s a major leap forward from the originals.

The Veritas Saw Set blends the finest elements of traditional designs into one versatile tool, making it easy to set an extensive variety of saws — from coarse-toothed rip or panel saws to fine joinery saws with teeth up to 28 tpi.

Its clever two-stage, spring-loaded mechanism works smoothly: squeeze the lever and the blade is first clamped in place; continue the motion and the ram gently bends the tooth against the anvil. Adjusting the amount of set is simple — loosen the locking knob, turn the adjuster to reposition the anvil, then tighten the knob again. A clear built-in cursor lets you record the anvil position for repeat settings on the same saw.

Ergonomics were a priority in the redesign. The lever and grip are shaped for comfort and reduced hand fatigue, while an enlarged viewport improves visibility during use. The body is precision-cast from ZA-12, a zinc-aluminium alloy as strong as cast iron but lighter and less brittle. Hardened-steel components form the ram and anvil, and the solid-brass knobs add a touch of classic style.
